It was joy and excitement as HRH Eze Wobodo Sunday Jonah Nyewe-Ali Ibaa/Obell (Uvuawhu) Kingdom in Emohua local government area of Rivers State , installed Chief (Engr.) Offor Grant as the Eze Onwua-Nagbanu – Ali 1 of Ibaa/Obelle (Uvuawhu).
The occasion took place at Omuogba Memorial Hall,Ibaa Town, on Saturday, July 29, marking the two years anniversary of the victory as Nyewe-Ali Ibaa/Obelle (Uvuawhu) and his recognition by the Rivers State Government.
Decorating Chief Grant in his Chieftaincy attires, Eze Jonah said conferment of the chieftaincy tittles is a rare opportunity given to deserving sons and daughters of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality who have distinguished themselves in the service to humanity.
The Chieftaincy title of Chief Grant , Eze Onwua-Nagba-Ali 1 of Ibaa/Obelle (Uvuawhu) meaning the King that radiates light, was bestowed on him in recognition of his track records.
The Monarch said he used the occasion to instal those distinguished sons and daughters of the land because he needed collective responsibilities, people who are ready to support him move the Kingdom to greater heights .
The Nyewe-Ali Ibaa/Obelle Kingdom who was full of praises to God said that the mammoth crowd at the occasion was a demonstration of the people’s confidence reposed in him and promised to rule with all sense of humility and the fear of God.
He called on sons and daughters of his kingdom that fled from home due to conflicts in the area to come back home as his reign has brought back the needed peace in the area, adding that what the ancient kingdom of Uvuawhu wants is harmony, unity, peace and love as they are one blood, one body.
Chief Grant in his response thanked the King and the people of Ibaa/Obelle for finding him worthy for the exalted position, promising that the honour done him will certainly spur him to do more of his Philanthropic works.
His words: I feel very excited to be conferred with the tittle Eze Onwua-Nagbanu-Ali 1 of Ibaa/ Obelle (Uvuawhu) meaning the King that radiates light . This tittle will give me more motivation to do more for the people, actually I have a lot of plans for the people of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality as regards to infrastructural development.
He admonished the youths to always be positive in all their doings, saying with God on their side, their hard work would be crowned with success.
The chairman of the occasion, Hon. Elder ESV Chinedu Nwabueze Taise commended the King for the conferment of Chieftaincy tittles on high calibre of men and women that are ready to play the advisory role in moving the kingdom forward . He said the singular act of the king shows that he is not ready to do the work alone despite the fact that he has the Ibaa and Obelle Council of Chiefs.
He urged the King to ensure that he carries everyone along in the scheme of things and charged the people to have faith in themselves and close ranks with the King to transform the area into an enviable and prosperous land.
Many dignitaries who graced the occasion in their separate goodwill messages stressed on the virtues of King Wobodo Sunday Jonah and Chief Offor Grant respectively.
