New Executive has been inaugurated to take charge of the Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC).
They were unveiled on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Freedom House Port Harcourt.
The newly inaugurated Exco members are Hon. Golden Chioma – Chairman, Chief Mike Amakiri – Deputy Chairman, Engr. Ineye Jack – General Secretary, Chieme Chinwekpe Esq – Legal Adviser, Hon. Frank Wonodi – Organizing Secretary, Hon. Innocent Ajaelu – Treasurer, Hon. Mrs. Briggs Ibibio A – Financial Secretary, Chief Fred Onungwe – Welfare Secretary, Kingsley Ibanichuka – Youth Leader, Mrs. Chinyere Woko Joy – Women Leader, and Mr. Paul Osiago – Publicity Secretary.
The list also included senatorial leaders and ex-officios.
Speaking at the event, the Rivers APC chairman, Hon Golden Chioma said his faction which is loyal to Senator Magnus Abe had conducted its ward and local government congresses before their state congress which reportedly saw his emergence as chairman.
He said the party is now ready to win elections “We held the ward, local government and State congresses. We are a political party that wants to win elections.
“Governor Wike should start to prepare his handover note. APC will rule Rivers State in 2023. APC will ensure that a credible candidate would emerge as its governorship candidate. Only APC can rescue the country from its doldrums”.
He urged supporters to continue to keep faith as the party will do its best to protect their interests.
Chioma added that the programmes of the APC under his leadership will be intellectually based and urged members who are yet to revalidate and those interested in registering to take advantage as registration opportunities will be made open for everyone.
Elder Chidi Wihioka said they had pardoned the Transportation Minister, Chibuike Amaechi and urged him to come back to the APC where he would be given the backseat.
He said if the minister continues with his grandstanding, he would be forced to open up on him having worked with him for a long time.
He eulogizes the quality of the new APC Rivers APC Excos, saying that they had what it takes to put APC in government House come 2023.
In an interview, Hon. Tony Okocha, former Chief of Staff Rivers State Government House said the only authentic Rivers APC Executive that is recognized is the Hon Golden Chioma-led Executive.
Barr. Wogu Boms, former Attorney-General of Rivers State and Hon. John Anucha, two time chairman of Omuma Local Government Area were among the dignitaries who graced the inauguration.
