Rivers CAN Chairman Bags OAIC Excellence Award

The Rivers State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Special Apostle Stanley Dimkpa, PhD has added another feather to his cap.

He was given another Award of Excellence by his family church, Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) over the weekend at an event held at the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Rumuomasi Provincial headquarters, Port Harcourt.

According to the body, “Dimkpa who was elected as its State Chairman could not complete his tenure before he was drafted to contest for the CAN State Chairmanship which he won”, they said Presenting the award to the CAN Chairman, the OAIC zonal chairman, Archbishop Isreal Ege said Apostle Dimkpa has actually made them proud with his activities and conduct at the centre hence the need to celebrate and encourage him.

In his contribution, the State Chairman of OAIC, Senior Pastor Prince Godwill Esq said they considered Apostle Dimkpa for the esteem award because of his sterling leadership qualities as CAN chairman “He has not disappointed us since he became the chairman. His leadership qualities is unparallel. Apostle Dimkpa’s patience even in the face of provocation, opposition and challenges is something else”, he said.

The OAIC chairman also disclosed that Dimkpa within the period under review, has offseted the over 15 years debt owed by the OAIC, adding that his achievement is unparalleled as his rich citation revealed.

On his own position as the chairman of OAIC, Prince Godwill said he will endeavour to emulate his boss to achieve more for his people.

In his last tenure, he said the executive was saddled with how to steady the ship and unite the body which was shakening as a result of the CAN leadership challenges.

His vision this time around the chairman said, they will still continue to reach out to their members, adding that in their first 100 days in office OAIC shall organize a statewide crusade to show that the body has bounced back stronger and united.

The outgoing chairman of OAIC and present State Chairman of CAN, Most Special Apostle Dimkpa in response said he was overwhelmed on the award which he dedicated to his father Elder Alex W. Dimkpa who was also at the event.

He promised that the award of Excellence was going to encourage him to do more for the body of Christ and prayed for the support of everyone to enable them promote the more, the body of Christ and Christendom as a whole.

Those elected for the OAIC state executive include Senior Pastor Prince Godwill, Esq, chairman; Special Apostle (Dr) Samuel Momoh, First Vice Chairman; Most Special Apostle Lawrence Gbabibo, 2nd Vice Chairman; Evangelist E. O. Rowland Lato, Secretary and Special Senior Apostle (Engr) Iruayenama George Ibifuro, Assist. Secretary. Others were Apostle Desmond Okike, Treasurer; Senior Pastor T. J. Peterside Asst Fin Sec., Supt Apostle Ugwo Sunday, Fin Sec., Lady Rachel D. Ackot-Joe and Mother Nkechinyere Okere, P.R.O.

Earlier in his address the former secretary of OAIC Rev. CAN Michael DPC Brown lamented that there was no clear-cut handover notes from the past executive to the present which made it difficult to take off. He said however God gave them the enablement to succeed the much they achieved.

He used the opportunity to reel out some of their achievements, with lack of finance as their greatest challenge.

The secretary thanked God for the working relationship they enjoyed in office but however advised the incoming executives to be more committed and ready to sacrifice for the body.

He equally thanked the authority for giving them the opportunity to serve.
