Concerned Friends Elect  Ele Monarch As President

A social-cultural organization under the aegis of Concerned Friends of Ogu Town in ogu/Bolo Local Government Area has elected a new executive with the Paramount Ruler, and Amanyanabo of ancient Ele kingdom, His Royal highness, King Felix Tamunosepiriala Okuru Apina, the 7th as President.

Others elected at the general meeting held in Port Harcourt on Sunday include Mr. Igbikiowubo Hector Akwa, Secretary, Chief Tobin Nemieboka, Financial Secretary/treasurer while Comrade mark Derefaka bagged the posts of P.R.O, Organizing Secretary and Provost.

In his acceptance speech, the new president of the Concerned Friends of Ogu Town, king Okuru-Apina promised to uphold the objectives of the club by promoting education, welfare, sports and cultural activities.

King Okuru Apina thanked God for giving the members good health as well as the opportunity to serve them, assuring that with all hands on deck, he would move the club to greater heights.

The Ele monarch opined that he would justify the confidence reposed in him and his present exco, describing the election as the will of God.

Earlier, the out-going president of the club, Engr. Emmanuel Amatemeso said the successful story of his administration was the result of the members’ commitment, unalloyed support and co-operation, and enjoined them to also extend their hands of fellowship to the new exco for the club to further move forward.

Engr. Amatemeso noted that during his tenure, they supported the community in soci-cultural activities like the annual ogu cultural festival, gave award to pupils that excelled in the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), made donations to schools as well as ensured welfare of members and expressed optimism that the new exco would live up to expectation.

The inauguration of the new exco was witnessed by Chief Tamunosiki Friday Perefi Tiene, Chief Philemon Ajumbongodaka Omubo Ibiorika Kalaowe among other personalities from Ogu and Ele communities in the area.
