RIWAMA Truck, Armoured Cable Vandals In Police Net
..Police Speak On Arrested Church Security Stealing Church Property
One Mr Chigbo alleged to be a serial vandal of trucks used in waste disposal belonging to Rivers State Waste Management Agency(RIWAMA) has been arrested by a local vigilante, Port Harcourt Security Watch.
Mr Victor Ohaji, Chairman of the vigilante said they arrested the suspect early morning last Sunday while he was vandalizing the truck parked at the front of a church at Mile 1 Diobu.
The Vigilante Chief disclosed that cutters, the cut cables of the RIWAMA truck were recovered from the suspect who was handed over to Mile 1 Police Division.
The driver of the RIWAMA truck, Chijioke Ani told our reporter that he left the truck at the front of the church when the diesel in the vehicle got finished and when he came back the truck compacting component has been vandalized.
The truck driver revealed that he was informed by people around the area that the vandal was arrested and taken to the Mile 1 Police Division, Diobu.
Relatively two suspected street light cable vandals were also arrested at fruit garden axis of D-line, Port Harcourt last Friday.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko who confirmed the arrest said the two suspected street light vandals were arrested by the local vigilante group while vandalizing the armoured cable and handed over to the Olu-Obasanjo Police Division.
One correspondent gathered the two suspects were simply identified as Mr Emeka and Mr Chibuike.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of six security personnel of a private security company in charge of security of lives and property of Winners Chapel Church, headquarters located at Kaduna street, D-line, Port Harcourt, Rivers State who are being detained at the Olu-Obasanjo Police Division for allegedly stealing and attempting to sell church property.
Spokesperson for Rivers State Police Command SP Grace Iringe Koko disclosed that the five church security guards have been conniving and selling the church Iron rods which was for church work but while taking it for sale on Sunday early morning, they were arrested by the vigillantes.
In an interview with our reporter, the Chairman of PHALGA Security Watch, Victor Ohaji said he got credible intelligence at about 1am Sunday morning that the security personnel of the church were conveying iron rods and other church property to unknown destination.
Mr Ohaji stated that he and his personnel mobilized to the scene and trailed the church security personnel to where the property was about to be sold.
Mr Ohaji said the intending buyers of the stolen items on sighting the vigilante personnel took to their heels but they were about to arrest six of the church security personnel and retrieved the stolen items.
