Eze Akpononu Lauds Governor Wike’s Developmental Strides

Following the successful commissioning of the Okoro-Nu-Odo flyover, the Paramount Ruler of Rumuodomaya, HRH, Omunakwe Bright Akpunonu, has lauded Governor Nyesom Wike for what he called unequalled achievements in the State.

Speaking shortly after the official commissioning of the flyover in his palace, the monarch said he was impressed with the governor for embarking on landmark projects which have impacted positively on the economy and social life in the state.

The monarch thanked the governor for fulfilling the promises he made to the people of Okoro-Nu-Odo, adding that the Wike administration has turned their villages into a city.

His words: I must commend our able governor for his efforts in carrying out such landmark projects. He has turned our village into a beautiful city of envy with this road infrastructures.

This to a large extent, has made we, the people of Rumuodomaya community feel the dividends of democracy most especially for naming the flyover Okoro-Nu-Odo.

The monarch also enjoined the youths of the area to desist from allocating portions of the road to traders as shops, saying they should rather contribute to the development of the area.

The Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Isiokpo branch, Barr. Promise Ichegbo also joined the Paramount Ruler to thank the governor for a job well done.

He urged the governor to ensure that the Okoro-Nu-Odo flyover is well maintained by putting stringent measures in place so as to ensure that traders and motor park operators who are disorderly do not disorganize what has been properly put in place.

He frowned on the attitude of the traders in the area, stressing that there are several markets in the area to accommodate all the traders.

He further said the Okoro-Nu-Odo flyover is very significant to the people of Rumuodomaya Community because over the years by accident or design the name of Rumuodomaya became sidelined and subdued under the name of Rumuokoro for no just reason.

According to him, the communities that made up where the Okoro-Nu-Odo flyover is situated, are two separate autonomous communities, namely Rumuokoro and Rumuodomaya. God in His infinite mercy has used Governor Nyesom Wike to return to them the ancient landmark Okoro-Nu-Odo, which he said is the common name holding them together.
