The National President of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, Nigeria South-South 4 District, Ifeanyi Odedo, has tasked Christians to be involved in Nigerian politics to provide good governance and the desired change the country needs.

Arc. Odedo made the remark at a public presentation and Eminent chapter’s inauguration in Port Harcourt over the weekend.

Addressing participants at the event, Arc. Odedo explained that Christians ought to be the salt of the earth, saying choice is one of the greatest ability given to man but the freedom of choice given to mankind should not be misused.
Arc. Odedo attributed low political development to the absence of Christians in governance, saying that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice, as stated in the Holy Bible.

He admonished Christians who are in positions of trust not to betray the trust given to them by both God and man.

“Everyman must give account of his deeds on earth on the judgement day. Whatsoever, that will cost you eternity with God should be cut off,” he admonished.

One of the discussants at the event, Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa, lamented how Christians in Nigeria a re been persecuted and killed just like the days in the Bible. Also speaking, Mrs. Choima Okpoechi, said there are over 80millions of Christians in Nigeria, charging them not to be silent but should have interest in the governance of Nigeria.
She expressed disappointment over trillions of Naira from the oil and gas sector, yet the country still remains one of the poorest and most corrupt in the world, as stated by Amnesty International. She stated that the level of unemployment, corruption, social vices in the country is alarming and adviced Christians not to stand aloof.

Similarly, in their separate statements, Prof. Barineme Beke Fakae and Prof. Adebayo O. Ejele critized lack of open budget and poor funding in the health and education sector in the country.
