Bua-Kanni Community Marks Thanksgiving In Style

It was a big, unique  and colourful day to remember as the people of Bua-Kanni Community held their annual thanksgiving service on Sunday, January 2, 2021 for an established peace and the successful entry into the new year.

The thanksgiving service, which took place at ultra-modern town hall, Oor-aa, had as its theme ”forgiveness”

The Guest Minister, Pastor  Ifeanyichukwu  S. J. Ozurumba the  Area  Minister Greater Evangelism  World Crusade, charged the people of Bua –Kanni  to  always  forgive one another as the theme implies .

He urged them to embrace the New year with a grateful heart as God has been  faithful in preserving their lives throughout the year 2020.

The man of God advised the people to always depend on God, seek his presence first  all times so as to achieve greater height in all their endeavours  but never forget  to forgive each other.

He  said forgiveness was  necessary to ensure co-existence and development in the area. While attributing the emergence of social vices to the spirit of violences upon the youth due to lack of the presence of God in their lives .

Pastor Ozurumba said that in order to prevent the  future terrorists and other social vices parents should learn how to anchor on God first and then family value, respect for  moral standards in public conduct, obedience to the rule of law. Saying these  tools  should be used to fight against the greater danger confronting the  new generation .

The Menebua Kanni  HRH Mene Barikpoa Godwin Apere in his speech said forgiveness is the short code for love and peace saying they cannot access love and peace if the spirit of forgiveness  is lacking among them.

The Monarch said that since Kaani is being described as the ”JERSUSALEM OF OGONI” they should  always  bear in mind that the liberation of Ogoni is tied to the liberation of Kaani . He urged them to ensure that forgiveness becomes their watchword at all times  so as to pave way for development .

His words: I urged all of  us to rethink our hard stance and put behind us past situations that make us into forgivable enemies . Our language this New year should, out of my heart I have forgiven you or I am sorry for hurting you.

He emphasized that forgiveness is the best form of love and that it takes a strong person to say sorry and even a stronger person to forgive.

While counting the faithfulness of God in the lives of his people, he said numerous achievement by the community were made possible because of the grace of  God.

 Also  speaking,  Elder Leton Alex Ndoo, one of the Directors  of Goigoni Nigeria  Ltd who represented the CEO of same company Engr. Donowara  Monday Ndoo said  that looking at what God  has done in  Kaani  community, the community  has  resolved  to  appreciate  God  annually .

According to him, the  annual thanksgiving service is also to preach for the youths that they have their lives to live,  adding  that it is one of the social responsibilities  of Giogoni to see that they preach about the future of how to add  value to life ”This era ideas rules the world, so we are telling people to go for knowledge , shun social vices ,kidnapping and killing.

He said Giogoni is ever ready to support the community in whatever aspect that would promote unity, peace and development in Bua-Kaani.

Elder Ndoo also debunked  the story that described Bua-Kanni as the den of criminals saying in all the communities in Ogoni it is only Kaani that people live life to the fullest throughout the festive period. Adding that having one or two miscreant that were involved in social vices does not describe Bua-Kaani as the den of criminals.

Those who attended the event include Ministers of God from within and outside Ogoni. Different Ministers took time to take the different prayer points for God to intervene in the lives of the people and for the body of Christ to be united.
